The former outfielder Geronimo Berroa who played for the Leones del Escogido, one of the greatest hitters and most feared hitters in professional baseball under pressure in Dominican Baseball, was chosen to be taken to the immortality of the national sport.Berroa, selected "Most Valuable Player" in the Caribbean Series in 1990 and 1991, devoted a career of Hall of Fame in winter ball for the great contributions he made to the offensive game the team from Santo Domingo.
Berroa had three remarkable seasons in baseball hitter in the majors, where he played during 11 seasons split between the Atlanta Braves, Toronto Blue Jays, Florida Marlins, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers.
