Vettel Chosen as Best 2010 Sportman

The pilot Sebastian Vettel, who last month was devoted champion of Formula 1 with only 23, was elected German sportsman of 2010 by a jury composed of 1,500 journalists, on Sunday in Baden-Baden (southwest).

Vettel, the youngest world champion in the history of the pinnacle of motorsport, succeeds swimmer Paul Biedermann, distinguished in 2009 after winning two world titles in Rome.

The Red Bull driver exceeded 4,288 points for table tennis player Timo Boll (2,088 pts) and the new sensation in world golf, Martin Kaymer (1,763 pts).

The title in the women went to Maria Riesch, Olympic downhill ski champion in Vancouver, Canada, which narrowly passed, with 3,957 points, the queen of biathlon Magdalena Neuner (3921 pts).

Riesch, meanwhile, happens to Steffi Nerius, 2009 world champion in the javelin event in Berlin. Year's team, not surprisingly, was the German football team, which finished third in the World Cup and, with his game, very excited to observers.
